Here is a great way to make a beautiful and lasting puppet with your favorite children!

9. Add felt, wool, fleece, etc. for hair. Hair can be very simple, or very detailed. I prefer to stitch hair to puppet. (You can also use fabric glue.) Stitching tips: use small stitches and begin by following along the outline of the face. I begin on the lower left, stitch clockwise around the front, until I reach the lower right. Next, I stitch the front and back of the felt together, close to the puppet's head. That way you will not see the skin fabric underneath the hair. You also could simply stitch the two outer edges together. Adding layers of felt gives great dimension. I also like to stitch a textured yarn over the felt, and add ornaments, or braids.
